Description This is one of a series of cones that I turned from branchwood from a big beech tree that fell in a storm. I left the branches covered with dead leaves among the trees until fungus had begun to break down the wood. This process, with luck, and if caught at the right time, can spalt the timber, colouring it and creating networks of fine black lines, giving it a very striking appearance. The cone can be used as an accent piece to add to the decor of a room. Related
