Description Laburnum is known for its dark heartwood and contrasting pale sapwood. The tree can grow quite large, and this bowl came from such a tree. The sapwood shows some early spalting, with fine black lines where the fungus zones meet. There was a bark inclusion near the rim, which I filled with shining brass inlay, contrasting nicely with the rich brown heartwood. Related
